HILL HOUSE LAURA DRESS

These photos are from a few weeks ago (hmm maybe actually more like a month? maybe longer?). I wanted to share this dress on the blog though because I don’t think Hill House’s Laura dress is getting enough love. Earlier this spring I purchased the Lily dress and could not stop wearing it. I don’t know that a single dress I’ve owned has ever gotten so much love on the Instagram grid before. It was almost like a comfort blanket to me– I just felt that good in it. (And with a postpartum body I’m still adjusting to? There is something magical about a dress that you feel 100% amazing in.)

The Laura dress is Lily’s flirtier younger sister. It’s the same silhouette with just a shorter hemline. It’s chic. And yes, I’m hoping they bring it back in some more solid colors and staple prints/fabrics.

Cute, right?!

I found the Laura and Lily dresses to both fit a little big. I usually would size up for my chest size and actually went with the smaller of my two normal sizes. I’ve been wearing it with the belt it comes with, but you could absolutely swap in another belt to create a whole new look. Definitely worth giving a try if you want a classic, but fun, little black linen dress!

I have to admit that I was fully influenced by you and bought the navy longer version immediately. As a nursing mom, the buttons are key, just as the ability to adjust sizing by cinching is as my body changes. I feel like the shorter version would be like my platonic ideal of a dress were it just about two inches longer. It’s just too short for my taste now given all the running around. I prefer just on or below the knee. Maybe you could convince them to do three lengths?!? (Joking not joking.)

Love this dress! I haven’t worn mine yet, but was debating if it needed a slip or other undergarment. (It’s so hot out though!) Thoughts?

Thank you for always keeping it classic!
