When J. Crew first released the scallop dress, I didn’t get it. And I seriously regretted it every time I saw it on Pinterest or on someone’s blog. It is so cute.
I loved the navy one, but unfortunately they didn’t have my size by the time I convinced myself that I should get it. Of course, I was thrilled when J. Crew re-released the dress in new colors. The royal blue (which I got) is quite pretty and the black is a fun little twist on the LBD.
(True story, I can’t say that I won’t go back and get the black one too.)
I wore the dress on a particularly rainy day in NYC. Of course, I forgot an umbrella… and of course, the temperature essentially plummeted by mid-afternoon. But it was all good because my dress was scalloped. Right?
I intend on wearing this throughout the fall with a button up underneath. (Have I mentioned how much I like button ups under dresses?)
What do you think of the scallop dress?

PS One note on the sizing… It runs rather large. I went down a size and might consider getting a couple of darts put in the back of it. I recommend ordering a smaller size, or even going to a petite if you’re a little shorter!

Depending on what size you are, eBay has a ton of them!! Coincidentally, I was looking at them yesterday afternoon.

I bought the black one a couple weeks ago. Wore it once & knew right then and there that I needed the royal blue one. I purchased it this past weekend I couldn't be more pleased with myself.

Girl! I completely feel you. I didn't order it soon enough and was so HAPPY they re-released in new colors. I even wore it for my engagement photos 🙂

the exact thing happened to me. i've been scouring ebay for a navy one per the recommendation of one store employee and immediately snapped these up!
The problem I have with J.Crew is that I want to buy everything they have. It is such a great brand!
