Walk on the Wild Side

This is a little bit of a follow up to this post from the first week of October. I mentioned how versatile I thought this leopard skirt was and I totally stand by that. It’s a great skirt. The longer I have it in my closet, the more ways I think about styling it. (I’m going to try a striped shirt, denim jacket, and sneaks next!) That first post was very “me.” Or maybe a better way of saying it is that it’s me playing it safe. I thought I’d mix it up and take a walk on the wild side. This is definitely a bit outside of my comfort zone, but I honestly love it!

First, I do want to address the skirt size. I got a lot of DMs/questions about it. Reviews mention that it runs small and it sort of does. The waist has zero forgiveness– no stretch whatsoever. But the rest of the skirt is quite full and roomy. If you have a smaller waist and usually size up to accommodate hips and/or a butt, I actually don’t think you need to size up. If you’re straighter (waist/hips are relatively the same), then yes, size up!

I paired the skirt this time around with this blouse from Sezane. I’m getting a ton of use out of this. It’s just so cute! I somehow missed that it comes in NAVY too if cream isn’t your jam.

And then…. bam! I decided to wear these black over the knee boots. It’s not what I’d typically go for (hence the walk on the wild side, ha). I thought it helped edge up the uber-feminine blouse though. Makes the skirt feel even more perfect for autumn.

Love this look! Are there any US-based retailers that carry Sezane? Or do you order from the French online store?

There’s a US version of the site, if it doesn’t automatically happen you should be able to toggle between English/dollars at the top of the website. Free shipping and returns, too!

Do these OTK boots stay up? I currently own a pair that falls down basically immediately, and am willing to pay more for something where I don’t have to worry about it!
