Lilly Pulitzer Crop Top + Skirt Set

Now, that’s the only “crop top” I’ve ever purchased. I haven’t been inclined to buy another one, until I saw this Lilly Pulitzer top and skirt set. It’s a little out there, but I don’t hate it! Call me crazy… I think it’s pretty fun.
It’s very Taylor-Swift-visits-Palm-Beach. I’m totally curious to know how much skin actually shows. The model probably has a longer torso… right? I want to try it on and see! Also, I love the idea of wearing the skirt with a summer-weight sweater. Two uses in one.
Even though crop tops are a trend right now, I actually think this particular style is extremely vintage looking. The top and skirt (and the print) looks straight out of an old Lilly ad:
Tell me your thoughts! I’m curious!

PS Crop top not for you? I’m also loving this one!

I've been noticing a lot of classier crop top and skirt combos lately and have been asking myself the same question. Could I wear this?

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about it and I think I have decided that in the right situation, I could go for it. There definitely seems like there is a way to keep it classy and not be all about showing skin.

Love this Lilly option!

Definitely not my style (I like the skirt by itself), but I think the right person could definitely pull it off!! The Taylor Swift meets Palm Beach analysis is SPOT ON!!

I LOVE 60s chic! I once did a 60s theme photo shoot, it was the highlight of my year! Very cute crop top/skirt!

I'm like you, I have maybe one crop top, and was surprised by how much I liked it. However, when I saw that Lilly was now offering the trend, I was a bit upset. I love the vintage photos and idea that that is what they are going for, but I see it more as Lilly getting so far away from the classic company it was. I just feel as though Lilly herself would be rolling in her grave about a few of the new directions the company is taking. It was such a staple growing up and a few years ago, I feel as though the quality and market changed drastically.

I don't think this is too different from the 1960s Lilly styles. I kind of love it! And it is super versatile- you could wear it as is, throw on the top with a high-waisted skirt or wear the skirt with another type of top. I don't really like the crop top trend, but I think Lilly pulls it off.

I love the crop and skirt look. I'm not sure if I would have been sold on it if I didn't see Tay rocking it so well. Truly I never show my mid-drift unless I'm in a bathing suit, but I think Lilly still keeps this look conservative and it's not totally revealing like some crop tops. I love it and am so excited to add it to my spring/summer wardrobe. Thanks for sharing this!

I don't think I personally have the body top to wear this outfit, no one wants my muffin top to pop out! But I think on certain body types, it would look great 🙂 I love the vintage Lilly ads that you shared, those would be so cute printed out and framed!
