Mother’s Day Flowers

I was so excited when FTD reached out to me about collaborating on a bouquet for Mother’s Day. I’ve been trying to be very selective about who I’m partnering with during this time and a bouquet for Mother’s Day felt just right. I waived my partnership fees and I’m donating the 20% I receive of proceeds from bouquets sold to No Kid Hungry.

While I don’t think you necessarily have to give gifts to let people know you love them, giving gifts is my love language. And I know my mom loves to receive fresh flowers for all occasions, especially Mother’s Day. I’m sad I can’t be with her this year and hope she loves the flowers and knows I love her every day!

It was a blast to work with the FTD team; they are the industry standard when it comes to flower delivery. Of course if you know me, you know I had to include a touch of blue in my bouquet!! I love the classic white roses, whimsical pops of green, and then the blue hydrangea.

I got a preview of the bouquet sent to me and I promptly popped them in a vase. It’s a BIG bouquet. Truly makes a statement!!!

I’d love it if you considered buying this bouquet for your mom. They ship free and 20% of the proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry 💙 That’s a win/win in my book.

Thank you to FTD for partnering with me!

You haven’t come home to a Tampa in AGES!! Why?? Has Mike ever been?? I know how important your family it to you… You have so prioritized his.

I had a trip planned in March that was canceled and as you can imagine, it will be a while before I’m able to visit them (or have them visit me).

Genevieve, I hope I’m reading your comment in a way that was not intended, but I can’t help but speak up for Carly some on this. It’s impossible in relationships to equally divide your time among family members (and that’s not the point of a relationship, either). Especially when the distance to sets of parents is unequal (like NY/NJ vs Florida), the amount of time physically spent with both can vary. There’s no requirement in relationships to balance your time equally and through what Carly has shared in the past about her parents, it is clear she has a beautiful family who, when time allows, will welcome her and Mike with open arms. Until then, she is so lucky to have their support virtually and even luckier to have Mike’s family (who also seem amazing and so much fun) as well. Carly, the bouquet is gorgeous. I appreciate your honesty about brand deals right now, you are being incredibly open and true to yourself right now and it has not gone unnoticed.

This is absolutely gorgeous!! My birthday is just before Mother’s Day and I may have sent this over to my husband as a hint-hint.

I recently bought myself a bouquet of flowers from FTD to celebrate the one year anniversary of a major orthopedic surgery I had. I have to say that the bouquet from FTD was the most beautiful bouquet of flowers I’ve ever seen. They really do a great job!

Carly, this is a great idea and I LOVE your bouquet. My question is: in this time of quarantine, will FTD notify moms or whomever that there is a delivery of flowers at their front door? I am concerned that given our current “stay-at-home” situation, the recipient may not even know there are flowers at the front door. Do you have any intel on this? Or do we just call them ourselves and say, “Check your front porch today?” Thank you. Great suggestion! Also, for clarification, they are delivered wrapped in cellophane not in a vase, correct?

great question! They arrive wrapped, not with a vase. And you can choose the delivery day– so you may want to just give her a little warning like “a little surprise is getting delivered today” or text her at the end of the day to let her know something should have been delivered!

Haha this all has made me so emotional – when I read you waived your fees and are donating to No Kid Hungry, my eyes filled with tears. Thanks for continuing to provide content while also being an example of how we can support each other during this! (Beautiful bouquet, too!)

Flowers are great, and always such a treat to give and receive! However, FTD is a corporate mega house that takes money away from independent Floral stores. As someone who works in the floral industry, I see first hand the poor quality offered by FTD/ Telefora. They offer stock choices that are not accurate of the actual product you might order. Why not partner with a independent Flower store in your community? Unlike FTD, a local store works with local growers and vendors to offer quality product and beautiful designs. Just some food for thought.

Was really hoping you would have some sort of dialogue regarding my comment. You seem to pick and choose which comments you want to engage with, mostly negative ones or comments that are digital head pats. As a long time reader, I am really disappointed to see you choose a Mega Corp Floral Distribution Order service versus utilizing the talents of a local small business.

I love that you’re donating proceeds to No Kid Hungry. There are SO many food insecure kids right now, especially with schools out. It’s a beautiful bouquet, too – I hope it does well and that you’ll be able to partner with FTD again in the future!

This is a beautiful collaboration and it’s great that you’re able to donate a part of the income you receive from that collaboration.

Best wishes.
