ON MY RADAR

Coming back from vacation was a little tougher than I expected. Usually, I am ready to return to the routine and normalcy, but I was a little emotional leaving knowing the next “big” thing on the calendar is giving birth. Summer always flies by and this one has been no exception. I keep thinking how crazy it is that we’ll be a family of three before summer is over… so exciting!

I spent most of the week purely working on a deadline and getting caught back up on emails. My inbox was a doozy after a week of near neglect!! So I’m a little short on links this week.

ONE // What Do Kids Actually Remember and Love About Summer Vacation?

I absolutely loved this blog post from Emily Henderson. She and her team usually cover interesting interior design topics, but occasionally Emily writes about lifestyle content that I enjoy as well. Last week she wrote about summer break and family vacations and I loved the insights (and comments!).loved our childhood summers– we did the same easy vacations year after year (visiting our grandparents at the beach for the Fourth of July and sometimes lobstering in the Florida Keys with another family), but otherwise we were home and just enjoying time off from school. We would swim every day, run through the sprinklers on the golf course in our neighborhood, and for many years we even had annual passes to the theme parks nearby and we went often as if visiting a regular local park.

TWO // Dog Print Art

Over the past few months, I’ve been slowly building up a little collection of artwork for the baby’s nursery. I just sent a bunch of artwork to Framebridge and I can’t wait for the framed pieces to arrive! I don’t think we need anymore framed pieces exactly, but then I stumbled on this adorable collection of dog prints and had to get the black lab. (We do not have a black lab, as much as Mike wants one, haha– but Mike grew up with labs so I’d knew he’d love it too!) There’s a bunch of breeds available!

THREE // Claire Saffitz’s New “Claire-ified” Series

I know, I know… I can’t stop including Claire Saffitz videos in these Friday posts! But she started a new series on her Youtube channel where she answers readers questions. I find her knowledge of baking to be incredibly helpful as a (very) amateur baker. Somehow she makes complicated topics seem manageable and doable. I love her encouragement.

FOUR // Lobster Chappywrap

Chappywrap blankets are favorites around our house. How cute is this lobster blanket? Perfect for summers. You can even add an embroidered monogram to the ones on Mark and Graham!

Hi Carly! I know you’re also a big gymnastics fan. With the Olympics coming up, there are two great miniseries being released that I think you’ll love! Simone vs Herself on Facebook Watch and Golden on Peacock. Both are free to access too which is great. I hope you get the chance to watch them. I’m really enjoying them both!
