I think Louisa must have taken a peek at me pantry this weekend when she put this post together. I just stocked up on boxes of pasta. I went to make some last week and realized I was down to my last box! It’s my go-to comfort meal, even in the summer. These dishes are perfect…
Draper James Gingham
This dress isn’t exactly a “blend in with the locals” kind of dress. But I loved wearing it while touring around Paris nonetheless. When I saw it online, I bought it and said a little retail prayer that it would be as cute in person as I hoped it would. Guys, it’s even better. A huge gingham check is difficult to pull off without looking like a picnic blanket. The details on this one work though– the neckline, the bow, the pockets. How is a gingham-obsessed girl supposed to say no to this?
All the Paris Things
On our last night in Paris, I was sitting in bed window shopping on the internet looking at various Paris mementos. I showed Carter something and she, hilariously, said, “Goes to Paris once, buys all the Eiffel Tower things.” Guilty. Although I don’t think I’m *actually* going to turn into a walking meme over here. (Or will I?!)
I do think I’m going to eventually get this Instagram framed with Framebridge to add to my travel gallery wall. But it hasn’t stopped me from taking a peek at all the cute Paris things!
On My Radar
On Sunday, I went to the Tony Awards watch party hosted by IBM followed by the after party at the Plaza. This was my third year attending, and the excitement has not worn off. It’s such a ridiculously fun night. Super fancy dresses, an insane amount of delicious food, and celebrities everywhere. While I think I’d prefer…
Eyelet in Paris
About to type something I thought I would never type here on the blog. If you’re not shopping at Abercrombie, you are missing out!!! I almost don’t want to share because I feel like it’s the best-kept secret right now. But what kind of blogger would I be then?!
I ordered this white eyelet dress. It’s currently on sale, but even at full price, it’s 100% worth it. Like dress-of-the-summer worth it.
Going with the Flow When You’re Type A
I am, for better or for worse, very Type A. I was joking with a friend that he was Type-Lower-Case-A and I was Type-Upper-Case-A. He then added that it was more like upper case, and bold, and italicized… and possibly with an exclamation point at the end too. In a lot of ways, I’m glad…
A Summer Look
I’m excited to partner with thredUP on this post today. After advice for starting a blog, my next most asked question is how to build a wardrobe on a budget, without sacrificing style or quality. I have been using thredUP for a couple of years actually. It’s one of the websites I always go to when I’m looking for a particular item of clothing from a past season.
Devil’s in the Details – How to be Better at Them
Oh, man… details. I’m normally a pretty detail-oriented person, but occasionally I let things slip. It usually happens when I’m tired or have too much on my plate. One week, I missed a flight because I went to the wrong airport and missed a train because I had the stations reversed. It made me take…
Liberty Floral in Paris
I was really struggling with figuring out what to pack for my Paris trip. I had been watching the weather, and it was changing dramatically every few days. At one point, it looked like it was going to be 65 degrees and pouring rain the entire time. It turns out it was over 90 degrees and brutally hot the whole time. Despite threats of thunderstorms, we only experienced 20 minutes of the lightest drizzle on Sunday.
My original plan for packing was going to be skinny jeans, cute pants, trench coats, and lots of striped shirts. Thankfully I packed lots of sundresses instead!
