We’ve gotten what we wished for though. The temps have dipped and it’s been snowing in many places. (It’s been a mix of sleet, flurry, and rain here but when I walked Teddy yesterday morning, there were patches of snow on the ground!!)
So, it’s with mixed feelings that I put away my ballet flats and swap over to my winter shoes. When I went to college, I was not prepared for winters. Especially when it came to shoes. It really wasn’t until last winter when I finally (finally) felt like my feet were dry and warm enough all winter long!

Even though they’re not technically snow boots, I tend to wear my Hunter boots year round. As long as you wear thick socks (they even make socks just for wellies), they keep your feet extra dry and warm. I discovered the genius that is Sorel boots last year and I’m hooked. These boots are my favorite– this color is 25% off– because they’re great for everyday wear and are easy to slip into, but the Joan of Arctic boots are super cute. (I would order the Joan of Arctic boots 1/2 size up… I made that mistake last year and found my true size to be too small… but too late!)
I got the Sorel Joan of Arctic boots for Christmas and wore them in the snow for the first time today…they were amazingly warm and I was shocked by how quickly they dried. I am already in love with them!

My Hunter boots are my go-to for chilly winter days; however, since I'm in the South, it still feels like a perpetual fall, so I probably won't be pulling those out any time soon.

My mom has had them for the past few years and they are such a good alternative to Uggs for the cold weather in upstate NY!
