CARLY SUMMER STATE OF MIND

We have been having the best time in Harbour Island this week as a family of three, and I think it’s put me in a summer state of mind. As much as I don’t want our vacation to end, I’m looking forward to all the fun things this summer has in store. In the peak of the summer heat last year, I spent a fair share of afternoons at the pond. Since it’s a short drive from our house, I would head over in the middle of the day just to get into the water and cool off for a bit before heading home to work again. I’m really hoping to squeeze in more afternoons at the pond with Jack this summer. Another one of my favorite memories is hosting family and friends in our backyard. Mike would grill, I’d make sides, and we’d play games and catch up past sunset. Those get-togethers are still some of my favorite memories we’ve made in our home.

So, in anticipation of summer, I’ve pulled together a few fun items for outdoor entertaining and spending time at the beach! We frequently use our Yeti cooler during the summer and can’t recommend them enough. They keep food and drinks cold for hours and are very durable. These canvas zip-top bags are great activity/beach bags since you don’t have to worry about things falling out or sand getting inside. Also, a set of monogram party cups are perfect for outdoor entertaining or pool days. I’m currently eyeing this cute lobster platter, Rummikub set, and BattleChip golf game set for Mike (I think it would make a great Father’s Day gift).
