With all of the gingham I’ve been wearing lately, it inspired me to share a few different ways to style one of my favorite prints. I pretty much alternate between gingham and stripes all summer long! My rule of thumb when styling gingham is to stick with a neutral, navy, and white color palette for a classic look. It’s one of the prints I feel most like myself wearing, but even if you’ve written off gingham in the past, I hope this post encourages you to give it another chance!
HOW TO STYLE GINGHAM
Try adding a pop of gingham with a pair of heels
This is an easy way to style gingham, especially if you’re intimidated by an entire gingham ensemble. Pick a simple outfit like a solid navy top and white jeans. Since your outfit is already a blank slate, you can have fun with your accessories by adding a pair of gingham heels or flats if that’s more your speed!
Go for a smocked gingham dress
Dresses might be my favorite way to wear gingham! This smocked dress has been my go-to this summer, and I just found another gingham dress with a tie-bow shoulder that’s right up my alley. Lastly, if you want to mix things up from the traditional navy and white, try this lavender smocked gingham dress instead.
Make a statement with gingham pants
I’ve had a pair of gingham pants for a while now, and I love pulling them out every so often! Since the gingham print is the statement of this look, I try to keep the rest of my outfit relatively simple. You can’t go wrong with a navy sweater or wear it with a cute little white top for dinner out.
