I hope you guys can humor me a little bit here with this post about J. Crew’s new arrivals. I have to give the company a lot of credit. I think they truly took into account brand loyalists’ opinions and feedback about the direction J. Crew had been heading.
There was a period of time when I would walk into J. Crew and walk out empty handed… now that’s near impossible. (In fact, I have to avoid the store altogether when I’m on a tighter budget.)
This post couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I try so hard to avoid ordering takeout. (Except for Saturday nights because I almost always “need” a pizza by then!) With all these apps available, it’s easier than ever to have all kinds of delicious food show up at your door within an hour….
I lovingly joke that the only thing that gets me through the winters is wearing as much cashmere as possible. You guys know that I’m not the biggest spender when it comes to clothes, but I like quality, classic pieces that I can wear year after year. If I’m buying into something trendier, I’d prefer to find a good deal. But for something I know that will last me a while? I’m okay making more of an investment. That’s how I feel about cashmere. Pricier than a normal sweater, for sure, but so much more luxurious!
For today’s post, I’m rounding up some affordable dresses fit for holiday festivities. I’ve kept all of these dresses under $100, and many are even more on sale with weekend codes. Make sure you check the website’s homepage for a code before you place an order, just in case! Even though it’s early November, the invites are starting to roll in. And it’s always a good idea to have a dress or two on hand for last minute parties (or date nights).
I’m currently in Georgetown for an event with Tuckernuck (it went great), and the weather is so perfect. Whenever I visit, I wonder why on earth I didn’t consider living here after college. Just a girl searching for the perfect digital planner solution. What I have right now is working, technically speaking, but I’m working across platforms and ideally I’d love everything to be in one place. I also have calendar synesthesia (IYKYK) and I physically feel myself in space moving through my calendar, which makes finding a planner difficult because I want/need it to match up with what I see in my head I know this sounds insane but if you also “see” time, you know what I mean!
Right now I’m using:
– Google Sheets to track campaigns/business line items
– Google docs for writing/brainstorming
– Google/Apple Calendars (somehow they’re integrated and I don’t ask questions because it just works...)
– Apple Notes for daily to-dos, random note keeping, and quick jot downs
– Apple Reminders for “must dos” esp w/ deadlines
– Dropbox for photo/file storage
I’m craving a good ole fashioned paper planner but the reality is that I need it to be digital. I need it to integrate with my calendar and remind me of tasks. I need to be able to access it on my computer when I’m working at my desk and on my phone when I’m on the go. I need structure and flexibility?
Does the perfect digital planner exist?! Do I need to overcome my overwhelm and tackle @notionhq? Is an @apple iPad the solution? Do I just keep doing what I’m doing because it’s technically working?

Halloween 2024 was one for the memory books 🏈 Rory’s first Halloween!! Jack had a blast, Rory loved tagging along, and Mike and I couldn’t stop smiling 🤍 I don’t know how many years I’ll be able to convince the boys to coordinate their costumes so really taking advantage- I bought Jack’s football player costume (customized!) and sewed Rory’s football bubble myself (Jack asked if he could throw him, which was a resounding and firm, “no.”). Now time to raid Jack’s stash 😛
