Ham for a Year

I thought having a dog was the hardest thing ever. And then I got a second dog and realized that there’s always room for a bigger challenge. A year ago, yesterday, Hamilton became Teddy’s little brother. In full transparency, getting a second dog was a pretty big mistake. I had my doubts and lost sleep…

Hamilton Princess Beach Club

When I was invited to stay at the Hamilton Princess in Bermuda, I was most excited about visiting the beaches. The hotel itself isn’t directly on the beach but instead has a private beach club not too far away. Traveling during the “off-season” is always a risk, pretty much wherever you go. On Saturday, the weather ended up being pretty gorgeous. It was a little bit chilly when the wind picked up, but otherwise, it was clear and sunny.

Bermuda Shopping

It’s been years (over 20!) since I had visited Bermuda last. I remember pretty random things since I was so young, but one thing that I absolutely couldn’t forget was the colorful buildings. I think I assumed that I had imagined the sorbet colored buildings as extra charming and was surprised at how accurate my memory was. It’s not that some buildings are cute and colorful– they are all cute and colorful with pops of white here and there.

Bermuda Packing List

I didn’t do a Bermuda packing list post because I honestly wasn’t quite sure what I’d be bringing. I ended up having to pack a bunch of outfits for the last-minute Charleston trip, and I figured whatever I didn’t wear there I could wear in Bermuda.

Handbags

Straw Bags

While I was packing for Charleston and then repacking for Bermuda, I was getting excited for all things summer. (Never mind the fact that it’s still quite chilly out.) Including straw bags. I forgot to pack one for Charleston and ended up borrowing one from Sarah. I had meant to buy it and then completely forgot. Have to add it to my cart now! Below are some fun and classic straw bags for every occasion, whether you’re heading out to a soiree or to the sea.

On My Radar

I’m so relieved we cut our Charleston trip a little short. While I would have loved to spend another full day and night exploring, I started to panic about getting back in time for my trip to Bermuda. We broke up the drive back and spent the night in a hotel halfway, so I had…

Snaps from Charleston

We’re already on our way back from Charleston. It truly was a quick road trip, but honestly quite a bit of fun. When a trip includes 15+ hours in an RV one-way you know it’s going to be fun, right?! It was the best change of scenery, right as we’re nearing the end of winter….

Rainbow Row

If there’s one thing I know very well about myself, it’s that I’m not much of a spontaneous person. As in, I’m not at all. I like plans and organization and plenty of time to get ready. But when Kiel texted me last week saying they were making an impromptu trip to Charleston and asked if I wanted to tag along, I said yes. I hesitated only for a second to ensure I’d be back on time for my flight to Bermuda on Friday morning, but otherwise just decided to make it happen. It was a very out of character thing for me to do, but honestly? Kinda fun.
